How does the tutoring session work?
The easiest way to complete our learning sessions is via Microsoft Teams; a video-calling programme that allows us to collaborate via video and screen. This saves on travel and time costs, provides a comfortable environment for the child in their own home and ensures both of our safety. I do also offer local Face to Face sessions - please enquire.
How long will the sessions be?
The recommended session length for optimum learning is 60 - 90 minutes. Longer than that and focus and attention can dwindle, making the learning less effective. Weekly sessions (or every other week) are recommended for continuity of progressive learning.
When do you offer tuition?
I will work with you to find a suitable time for each individual. This can be during weekdays or evenings, or even weekends.
What do I need to prepare for the session?
Please make sure you have water, pen, paper, pencil and calculator to hand and that you are located in a quiet area of your home to avoid distractions.
Are you CRB checked?
Yes I am fully CRB checked and, as a current teacher, I am also fully up to date on all Safeguarding policies
